Dr. James (Jim) Sproule is a former Emergency Room Physician and recently retired Deputy Chief Coroner of the Province of Ontario.
Jim has lived in Manotick with his family for 30 years.
Throughout his medical career he has had a continuing interest and focus on public safety.
Three months into his retirement Jim had a near fatal incident with a large flatbed trailer truck while riding his mountain bike across a bridge along Bridge Street. This was a call to action and led him to write an evidence-based review of pedestrian fatalities highlighting the elevated risk of pedestrian deaths on dangerous roadways like the Bridge Street / Manotick Main Street designated truck route.
In the fall of 2024, Jim joined with Bruce Miller and co-founded Manotick Concerned Citizens Against Truck Traffic. Dr. Jim currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors for MCCATT.

Adam was born and raised in Manotick, and returned to his home town with his wife to raise a family of their own.
Adam’s experience in the local realty sector keeps his finger on the pulse of the village. Raising a young family in Manotick and his close connection to the community brought the concerns from local citizens about the through-truck traffic to the forefront of his concerns, and inspired him to take action as a public safety advocate.
Adam currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors on MCCATT alongside Dr. Jim Sproule.

Bruce Miller brings his 40 plus year career as a licensed professional civil engineer to MCCATT.
Bruce has been a resident of Manotick for 10 years. He and his spouse Sue raised three sons in Ottawa, two of them currently raising their own families in Ottawa.
Bruce gained extensive expertise working on transportation engineering projects, including projects for the City of Ottawa and constituent municipalities before amalgamation, and the former Regional municipality.
Bruce was motivated to take action to have the through-truck route in Manotick closed after witnessing an array of traffic safety hazards on streets in the village. His experience told him that those streets were clearly inadequate to accommodate the heavy truck volumes which were increasing rapidly with growth in the southern part of the City. He knew he had to act when his late Mother, at the age of 96 was considering a move to Manotick Place on Bridge Street and decided not to join the community because of the noise and fumes created by the through-trucks in front of the building.
Bruce formed MCCATT with co-founder Dr. Jim Sproule in 2024, and currently serves as a technical advisor on the Board of Directors.
